Street Sports' New "Pro Shop"
Street Sports is concentrating on it's core business in a new and better way.
Thursday 3 November 2005 -- We are pleased to announce that we have finally worked out the details to take over our old installation facility at the Dragstrip. Many may know that we were working out of this facility until March on this year. Well it is a done deal! What does this mean you ask? It means we have secured a multi-year deal on a facility that cures a few problems we have had. Although it helps us in many ways, it will help all of you even more. How? Let us address some of the main points:
- We are moving installation back into the building on the hill at the end of the street. We are also moving the display areas and counters inside of the same facility. This will make work happen more quickly, especially good for those customers who wait on the vehicle. Also, it will be easier for the technician to discuss findings directly with the customer (and showing the findings).
- Resizing of some our of work areas to include metal fabrication, woodworking and fiberglass, paint, and other fabrication into an area of it's own, while engine assembly will be in it's own clean room. We should now be able to build new areas better from things we learned after moving into the main building and from the areas we had built previously in this building. Quality has already been top notch, yet it should still be expected to improve further. Speed will be the improvement we seek the most, just as before. Many of our projects were just taking too long before and pulling us off of other work that could be done. This will be solved.
- Warehousing of products will also change. This along with the revamping of our wholesale and mailorder departments which have been moved to a new Lexington location will help countless people who are not close enough to make the trip to our location here in Kentucky. It will also help expand our import and export service beyond what it is presently.
- A new larger sign is in the works with our new logo (above) that will make it easier to find our location.
- Many more smaller improvements will be forthcoming over the next few months that will be the icing on the cake. So stay tuned.
- The first half of the move will be completed by 15 November (the installation will be up and running at the new location).
- The second half of the move will be completed by 1 December (the sales department will be up and running at the new location).
- All administrative functions will be running in the new Lexington location by 15 November also. (A new fax number will be published soon)
